There’s a bug in this particular arc, in my opinion. The old Chinese timekeeping actually used the 12-hour clock which means 1 “shi chen” = 2 hours. It’s mentioned in the novel that TS has to withstand 12 shichen each day which is 24 hours. So it literally means he’s chained to the pole permanently for the entire duration of the trial which is 1 year. That’s one sadistic author there!

Anyway, great animation as usual but it feels a bit like a filler episode especially the part with Bibidong’s ascension as the Empress of the Empire. But as I’ve said before, I like that they show what’s going on, on the antagonist side instead of just dropping the bomb only towards the end.

By the way, I believe Bibidong deliberately left the angel statue unfixed as a mockery to them. It's probably a subtle hint of her hatred towards Martial Soul Hall and the "angel martial soul".

Had the exact same reaction. I love that they're providing a better balance than the novel but after the 3rd Wuhun/7Sect procession it's definitely crossing over into filler territory. I'm all for Bibi Dong in lingerie but I'd prefer supplemental story info LOL.

Idk about manga but in this episode I think TS has to hold on for 20hours a day, so he gets a four hour break everyday. But in the end they showed something about TS breaking his chains, idk what it is about. Let's see

The 4th trial was where he got his 3rd 100K ring and it was completed in 3 mths (actually in a day but they rested before that). The 5th, 6th & 7th were done in a week but in the 5th trial, his 5th BSE ring finally evolved to a red ring.

I'm surprised that the creator of the story didnt focus on tang san doing that sooner because right after Xiao Wu's sacrifice he had enough rage to kill the man face spider. It would have been a perfect area to do it then or right after he had spoken to Xiaogang regarding the issue with his back soul bone changing. It could have been handled similar to what happened in metal city when he took out bishop myles.

He could have...and it sure would have been satisfying right after the sacrifice. But the reality is, even as the most powerful Spirit Emperor it still would have been an extremely dangerous move, esp with QR & company still entrenched at Heaven Dou and Tang Sect yet to be established. At some point he may have been either overwhelmed, identified, or caught. Imo TS's restraint was very smart. When 'that' time comes, his power is off the charts comparatively. I can't wait for those scenes..

I agree with what you said but at the same time I'm thinking that his actually painted a target on his back with the creation of tang sect as it has given soul hall a defined place to target for infiltration to learn his secrets or complete annihilation. Whereas if Tang san was moving around like his father it would be more difficult for them to pin point his location. It's also very difficult to see how much of his knowledge from his previous life has been shared in regard to skills to improve the fighting ability of the members of tang sect other than the use of the hidden weapons as it hasnt really been shown thus far.

Good point. I always to had to suspend disbelief at how openly they established Tang Sect, especially considering TS's potential and his ability to build a war machine. Hell, even Huyan Zhen had their address, so you can be damn sure Spirit Hall spies do too, as well as their progress on hidden weapons, conceivably. I would have made it much more secretive, personally. The only explanation is that Spirit Hall really didn't regard him as much of a threat--even after the sacrifice. Otherwise, QR would have quietly assassinated him much earlier at the Moon Pavilion. And given how fast SH was amassing leverage/power over Heaven Dou, maybe their neglecting/underestimating Tang Sect makes pefect sense. As to Tang Sect skills, that's pretty much all TS lol. I remember Mubai asking TS how to train 1001 Nights and TS responding, "start 20 years ago" or something like that. 😂

I dont remember mubai asking to learn 1001 nights but I do remember him asking asking how he could be more like him during the early days of shrek academy when he was trying to woo zhu zhuqing and was shot down for being a womanizer that she had difficulty trusting.

In regard to qian renxue assassinating tang san when he was at moon pavilion, hu liena never shared that tang yin helped her escape when they both obtained death god domain until the hunt for xiao wu which was after tang san was at moon pavilion.

Oh that's right I forgot our baddies never put two and two together lol. I always had a sneaking suspicion that QR was ahead of the game but there isn't any hard evidence in the novel.

the unreliable Tang San will disappoint you at the most critical moment and need help. The guy has his ass handed to him just by the villain trying a little harder. Coming in his overleveled and overpowered state and still failing. Only achieving victory by getting another overlevel-up. This is why he is one of my list favourite protagonists.
